Every game pays its top 3 finishers, and the maths behind your odds is simpler than it looks: it just comes down to how many people are in the game, and how many of them get paid.
If a game has 100 players and the top 3 win a prize, that's a 3% chance of finishing in the money if every player had an equal, random shot — which, in practice, they don't. Your Mate's settings, how it trades, and the real market conditions during the game all move that number around, same as every other player's does.
Fewer players in a game means better odds for everyone in it, simply because there are fewer people to finish ahead of you. A 50-player game with the same top-3 payout structure gives you double the baseline share of entrants finishing in the money compared to a 100-player one.
Some games pay further down the leaderboard — not just the top 3. The more ranks that pay, the higher the base share of players who finish with something, though the prizes at lower ranks are typically smaller.
None of this is a promise about any individual player's odds — it's simple arithmetic (paid ranks divided by total players), not a guarantee or a claim about skill. Use the calculator below to try different player counts and prize tiers and see how the numbers move.
