Play Responsibly
Last updated: 14 October 2026. We want StockMates to stay fun — something you play because you enjoy it, not because you feel you have to.
No Real Money at Risk
StockMates is only available to players aged 18 or over with a UK-registered address — see our Terms of Use, Section 7.
StockMates is free to join and free to play, including every game — you never pay, deposit, or stake your own money to enter. StockMates uses virtual money only, so no trade your AI Mate or you make ever places real money at risk — see our Terms of Use, Section 1. Every trade uses virtual capital that has no cash value and can never be withdrawn, so you cannot lose real money through gameplay itself.
Cash prizes are genuinely real, but most players in any given game do not win one. Treat a cash prize as a possible bonus of playing a game you'd enjoy anyway, never as income you can plan around — see Section 2, Entertainment, Not Investment, below.
Entertainment, Not Investment
StockMates is a free skill-based fantasy stock competition — see our Terms of Use, Section 14. It is not a financial product, an investment, or a way to grow your money. Winning a cash prize is a genuine possibility, not something joining a game is designed to guarantee or that should be relied upon as income.
Past performance in one game does not indicate future results — a strong leaderboard position in a previous game is not a guarantee of similar results in any future game.
Setting Your Own Limits
A few simple habits go a long way:
- Join as many or as few games as feels fun — there's no cost or limit pushing you to join more than you want to.
- If checking your leaderboard position or configuring your Mate stops feeling like a fun part of your day and starts feeling like something you have to do, take that as a sign to step back.
- Remember that most players in any given game don't win a prize — enjoy the game itself rather than playing on the assumption of a win.

Step Away Any Time
You can stop using StockMates at any time. No need to contact us first.
